PERAN BUDAYA DALAM HARMONI SOSIAL (GUYUB RUKUN) DI MASYARAKAT JAWA: SYSTEMATIC LITERATUR REVIEW

ABSTRACT
Social harmony is an essential value in Javanese society, embodied in the concept of guyub rukun. This concept emphasizes togetherness, harmonious social relationships, and the avoidance of open conflict to maintain social stability. This study aims to examine the role of the guyub rukun culture in fostering social harmony and family cohesion within Javanese society through a systematic review. The literature was collected from the Google Scholar, Scopus, and ScienceDirect databases, covering publications from 2019 to 2025, and was screened using the PRISMA framework based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The findings indicate that guyub rukun serves as a guiding principle for social behavior and as a mechanism for emotional regulation in maintaining harmonious relationships. The synthesis of the selected studies demonstrates that the values of togetherness, cooperation, and emotional regulation strengthen social cohesion and family harmony, although excessive emotional suppression may contribute to latent conflicts. Overall, this systematic review confirms that the guyub rukun culture functions as a form of social capital that promotes social harmony and family cohesion through the reinforcement of togetherness, emotional regulation, and social cohesion.
ABSTRAK
Harmoni sosial merupakan nilai penting dalam kehidupan masyarakat Jawa yang diwujudkan melalui konsep guyub rukun. Nilai ini menekankan kebersamaan, keselarasan hubungan sosial, serta penghindaran konflik terbuka untuk menjaga stabilitas sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji peran budaya guyub rukun dalam membentuk harmoni sosial dan keharmonisan keluarga pada masyarakat Jawa melalui systematic review. Literatur dikumpulkan dari basis data Google Scholar, Scopus, dan ScienceDirect terbitan tahun 2020–2026, kemudian diseleksi menggunakan tahapan PRISMA berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa guyub rukun berperan sebagai pedoman perilaku sosial dan mekanisme regulasi emosi dalam membangun hubungan yang harmonis. Sintesis penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai kebersamaan, kerja sama, dan pengendalian emosi memperkuat kohesi sosial serta keharmonisan keluarga, meskipun penekanan emosi yang berlebihan berpotensi memunculkan konflik laten. Secara keseluruhan, systematic review ini menegaskan bahwa budaya guyub rukun merupakan modal sosial yang berkontribusi dalam membentuk harmoni sosial dan keluarga melalui penguatan kebersamaan, regulasi emosi, dan kohesi sosial.
