The development of digital technology has made it easier for students to carry out academic activities, but it has also increased the potential for digital distractions that may disrupt concentration and encourage academic procrastination. This study aimed to examine the relationship between digital distraction and academic procrastination among final-year students who were writing their undergraduate thesis. This study employed a quantitative correlational approach involving 193 students from universities in the Greater Jakarta area aged 19–25 years. The sample was selected purposively, and data were collected through an online questionnaire using Google Form. The instruments used were the Smartphone Distraction Scale and the Academic Procrastination Scale. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation and simple linear regression with the assistance of IBM SPSS Statistics. The results showed that digital distraction was positively and significantly associated with academic procrastination (r = 0.417; p < 0.01). The regression analysis also indicated that digital distraction was a significant predictor of academic procrastination (b = 0.910; p < 0.001). These findings indicate that the higher the level of digital distraction experienced by students, the higher their tendency to procrastinate in completing their thesis. This study highlights the importance of managing digital distractions to support more effective completion of final academic tasks.
