Tiktok addiction is becoming an increasingly common phenomenon among emerging adulthood, characterized by excessive use and negative impacts on mental health, productivity, and social relationships. This study aims to examine the relationship between self-control and Tiktok addiction in individuals aged 18-25 years who are classified as emerging adulthood. The method used is quantitative research with purposive sampling technique. Data were obtained from 200 participants domiciled in Jabodetabek through filling out an online questionnaire using the Brief Self-Control Scale (BSCS) and an adaptation of the Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale (BSMAS) to measure Tiktok addiction. The results of the analysis showed a significant negative relationship between self-control and Tiktok addiction (r = ?0.806; p < 0.05), meaning that higher levels of self-control are associated with a lower tendency for Tiktok addiction. The inhibition and initiation dimensions in self-control each contribute significantly to the decrease in Tiktok addiction with correlation values ??of r = ?0.793 and r = ?0.761. This study confirms the importance of self-control in reducing the risk of social media addiction, especially Tiktok, in emerging adulthood.
