Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the relationship between dyadic coping and mental health in married couples in Jakarta. This study discusses the ability of dyadic coping in married couples in Jakarta towards their mental health. The research method used a quantitative method using a population of 2,806,727 married couples in Jakarta. Due to the large population, the researcher used the Slovin formula with purposive sampling to determine the number of samples to be studied based on the criteria of living in Jakarta and having been married for at least five years, either longer or less than five years. After using the Slovin formula to determine the sample, it was obtained that the number of samples to be used in the study was 400 married couples in Jakarta. Then, the researcher conducted a data analysis using simple linear regression, which was processed using SPSS 23. The correlation analysis in this study used Pearson correlation which showed a positive and significant relationship between dyadic coping and mental health (r = 0.461, p 0.000> 0.05). This indicates that the higher the ability of dyadic coping, the higher the relationship and influence on the mental health of married couples in Jakarta.
