ABSTRACT
Multiple Micronutrient Supplement (MMS) is a supplement recommended to meet micronutrient requirements during pregnancy. The success of MMS supplementation programs is influenced by pregnant women's adherence to its consumption. One factor suspected to influence adherence is the mother's level of knowledge regarding the benefits, contents, and proper way to consume MMS. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the level of knowledge about Multiple Micronutrient Supplement (MMS) and adherence to MMS consumption among pregnant women in the working area of Sukorame Public Health Center, Kediri City. This study was an analytical study with a cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of all pregnant women in the working area of Sukorame Public Health Center, Kediri City. A total of 73 respondents were selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire to measure the level of knowledge about MMS and adherence to MMS consumption. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses with the Spearman Rank correlation test. Most respondents had a good level of knowledge (67.12%). Adherence to MMS consumption was equally distributed between the less adherent and adherent categories, each accounting for 41.10%, while 17.81% of respondents were categorized as moderately adherent. The Spearman Rank test showed no significant relationship between the level of knowledge and adherence to MMS consumption (p=0.602), with a very weak correlation (r=0.062). It was concluded that there was no significant relationship between the level of knowledge about Multiple Micronutrient Supplement (MMS) and adherence to MMS consumption among pregnant women in the working area of Sukorame Public Health Center, Kediri City.
