PSIKOEDUKASI REGULASI EMOSI UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN PROBLEM SOLVING PADA REMAJA DI PANTI ASUHAN

Adolescents living in orphanages often face various psychological and social challenges that may affect their ability to regulate emotions and solve everyday problems effectively. Preliminary assessments indicated that several adolescents experienced difficulties in controlling their emotions, such as irritability, social withdrawal, and limited ability to cope with interpersonal conflicts adaptively. To address these issues, a community service program in the form of emotional regulation psychoeducation was implemented to enhance emotional regulation skills and support the development of problem-solving abilities among orphanage adolescents. The program was conducted through interactive activities, including educational sessions, group discussions, video-based learning, simulations, role-playing, and emotional regulation strategy exercises. Program evaluation was carried out using assessment methods consisting of observations, interviews, and pre-test and post-test measurements employing the Emotion Regulation Scale. The collected data were analyzed using the Paired Sample t-Test to determine the effectiveness of the intervention. The evaluation results revealed an increase in the mean emotional regulation score from 38.20 in the pre-test to 65.00 in the post-test. Statistical analysis showed a significance value of 0.002 (p < 0.05), indicating that the emotional regulation psychoeducation program was effective in improving adolescents’ emotional regulation skills. Improved emotional regulation is expected to help adolescents think more rationally, manage conflicts constructively, and enhance their problem-solving abilities in daily life.

Remaja yang tinggal di panti asuhan menghadapi berbagai tantangan psikologis dan sosial yang dapat memengaruhi kemampuan mereka dalam mengelola emosi dan menyelesaikan permasalahan sehari-hari. Hasil identifikasi awal menunjukkan bahwa beberapa remaja masih mengalami kesulitan dalam mengendalikan emosi, seperti mudah marah, menarik diri dari lingkungan sosial, serta kurang mampu menghadapi konflik secara adaptif. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, dilaksanakan program pengabdian masyarakat berupa psikoedukasi regulasi emosi yang bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan regulasi emosi dan mendukung perkembangan kemampuan problem solving pada remaja panti asuhan. Program dilaksanakan melalui berbagai kegiatan interaktif yang meliputi penyampaian materi, diskusi kelompok, pemutaran video edukatif, simulasi, role play, dan latihan penyusunan strategi regulasi emosi. Evaluasi program dilakukan menggunakan metode asesmen berupa observasi, wawancara, serta pengukuran pre-test dan post-test dengan Skala Regulasi Emosi. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji paired sample t-Test untuk mengetahui efektivitas program. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan rata-rata skor regulasi emosi dari 38,20 pada pre-test menjadi 65,00 pada post-test. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,002 (p < 0,05), yang mengindikasikan bahwa program psikoedukasi regulasi emosi efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan regulasi emosi remaja panti asuhan. Peningkatan kemampuan regulasi emosi tersebut diharapkan dapat membantu remaja berpikir lebih rasional, mengelola konflik secara konstruktif, serta meningkatkan kemampuan problem solving dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
