ABSTRACT
The advancement of digital technology has significantly transformed the social behavior of young people, particularly through social media platforms such as TikTok. This platform provides a wide space for students to express themselves and interact with others, yet it also presents new challenges in shaping character and morality. Signs of moral decline can be observed through changes in attitudes, communication styles, and social interactions that are increasingly influenced by digital culture. This study aims to examine in depth the influence of TikTok use on students’ moral behavior by focusing on three key factors: content algorithms, digital literacy, and adolescents’ psychological conditions. This research employed a library research approach, analyzing national and international scientific sources published between 2020 and 2025. Data were obtained from reputable journals, academic books, and reports from institutions such as UNESCO (2023), which focus on digital literacy and character education. The data were analyzed using a descriptive-analytical method, which involved synthesizing previous studies to identify patterns and tendencies of social media’s impact on students’ morality. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation to maintain accuracy and objectivity. The findings indicate that TikTok significantly influences students’ moral behavior. This impact arises through the algorithmic system that shapes content consumption patterns, low digital literacy that hinders critical thinking, and psychological pressure caused by social comparison culture. However, strengthening character education, parental support, and teacher guidance can mitigate these negative effects. The synergy between digital literacy, religious values, and moral awareness is essential to develop ethical and responsible students in the digital era.
ABSTRAK
Perkembangan teknologi digital membawa perubahan besar terhadap perilaku sosial generasi muda, terutama melalui penggunaan media sosial seperti TikTok. Platform ini menjadi ruang ekspresi dan interaksi yang luas bagi pelajar, tetapi juga menghadirkan tantangan baru dalam pembentukan karakter dan moralitas. Gejala penurunan moral terlihat dari perubahan sikap, gaya komunikasi, serta perilaku sosial yang semakin dipengaruhi oleh budaya digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan menelaah secara mendalam pengaruh penggunaan TikTok terhadap perilaku moral pelajar dengan menyoroti tiga faktor utama: algoritma konten, tingkat literasi digital, dan kondisi psikologis remaja. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan studi pustaka (library research) dengan menganalisis sumber-sumber ilmiah nasional dan internasional yang diterbitkan pada periode 2020–2025. Data dikumpulkan dari jurnal bereputasi, buku ilmiah, dan laporan lembaga seperti UNESCO (2023) yang berfokus pada literasi digital dan pendidikan karakter. Analisis dilakukan melalui metode deskriptif-analitis, yakni dengan menguraikan hasil penelitian sebelumnya untuk menemukan pola dan kecenderungan pengaruh media sosial terhadap moral pelajar. Keabsahan data diperkuat dengan teknik triangulasi sumber untuk menjaga ketepatan dan objektivitas hasil. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa TikTok memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap moral pelajar. Dampak tersebut muncul melalui sistem algoritma yang membentuk kebiasaan konsumsi konten, rendahnya literasi digital yang menghambat kemampuan berpikir kritis, serta tekanan psikologis akibat budaya perbandingan sosial. Namun, penguatan pendidikan karakter, dukungan keluarga, dan bimbingan sekolah terbukti mampu menekan pengaruh negatif tersebut. Sinergi antara literasi digital, nilai keagamaan, dan kesadaran moral menjadi kunci dalam membentuk karakter pelajar yang beretika di era teknologi.
