Abstract

As woman police, their duty is to maintain public security and public order, which makes the role of a woman police officer not an easy job, as they must balance between work and family roles. This study aims to investigate the relationship between job demands and work-family conflict among woman police officers at the DIY Regional Police. The hypothesis is that there is a positive relationship between the job demands variable and work-family conflict among woman police officers at the DIY Regional Police. The population of this research consists of 356 woman police officers working within the units of the DIY Regional Police. The sample for this study comprises 78 individuals who has married with ? 40 work hours, and the sample is 30 individuals. Sampling was conducted using a purposive sampling technique. This research employs a quantitative approach with a survey questionnaire design that has been tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis, using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test, showed a positive and significant relationship between Job Demands and Work Family Conflict among Woman Police at DIY Regional Police Office ( r = 0.412, p < 0.01 ). The results of this study indicate a positive relationship between job demands and work-family conflict among Woman Police Officers at the DIY Regional Police, as well as the reverse.

ABSTRAK

Sebagai polisi wanita bertugas untuk memelihara keamanan dan ketertiban masyarakat sehingga menjadi polisi wanita merupakan pekerjaan yang tidak mudah, karena harus membagi peran antara pekerjaan dan peran keluarga. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mencari tahu hubungan job demands dengan work family conflict pada Polisi Wanita Polda DIY. Hipotesis penelitian ini yaitu ada hubungan positif antara hubungan variabel job demands dengan work family conflict pada Polisi Wanita Polda DIY. Populasi penelitian ini adalah polisi wanita yang bekerja pada satuan kerja Polda DIY berjumlah 356 orang. Sampel penelitian ini sebanyak 78 orang dengan kriteria sudah menikah serta jam kerja ? 40 jam dan sampel uji coba sejumlah 30 orang. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian ini memakai pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain survei kuesioner yang telah uji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Analisis data ini menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment yang menunjukkan hasil terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara Job Demands dan Work Family Conflict pada Polwan Polda DIY (r = 0.412, p < 0.01). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi Job Demands maka semakin tinggi pula Work Family Conflict pada Polisi Wanita Polda DIY begitu pula dengan sebaliknya.
