Qualitative psychological research focuses on understanding the meaning of individuals’ subjective and contextual experiences. However, qualitative data analysis often faces challenges related to researcher subjectivity, which is frequently treated as bias. This article aims to examine reflexive thematic analysis as a data analysis approach in qualitative psychological research. This study employs a conceptual paper approach through a literature-based analysis to develop conceptual and methodological insights into reflexive thematic analysis. The findings indicate that reflexive thematic analysis positions researcher subjectivity as an integral component of the analytical process through continuous reflexivity. This approach enables researchers to identify and interpret patterns of meaning in the data at both explicit and latent levels. Furthermore, reflexive thematic analysis is flexible and not bound by rigid procedures, emphasizing the active role of the researcher in constructing themes. Methodologically, this approach enhances the quality of interpretation by balancing internal reflexivity with external evaluation. Therefore, reflexive thematic analysis offers a relevant and adaptive approach for understanding complex psychological phenomena in qualitative research.
