ABSTRACT
The rapid development of digital technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) has created new challenges for the religious life of Muslims, including information overload, digital identity crises, religious misinformation, and social pressures that may affect the quality of faith among Muslim generations. This study aims to analyze the concept of tsabat (steadfastness) in Q.S. Al-Ankabut verses 2–4, examine its relevance to the challenges posed by technological disruption and AI, and explore its implications for Islamic education. This research employed a qualitative library research approach using the thematic (maudhu‘i) interpretation method. Primary data were obtained from the Qur’an, Tafsir Al-Mishbah, and Tafsir Al-Azhar, while secondary data were drawn from scholarly articles and relevant literature. The findings reveal that tsabat represents steadfast faith developed through trials (fitnah) as a divine law (sunnatullah) to distinguish genuine believers from those who merely profess faith. In the contemporary context, technological advancement and AI can be understood as modern forms of faith-testing that require spiritual resilience, moral integrity, and critical thinking. The study concludes that the values of tsabat possess significant pedagogical relevance as a foundation for developing students’ character, enabling them to become adaptive, ethical, and responsible users of technology in accordance with Islamic values.
ABSTRAK
Perkembangan teknologi digital dan Artificial Intelligence (AI) telah menghadirkan berbagai tantangan baru bagi kehidupan keagamaan umat Islam, terutama berupa banjir informasi, krisis identitas digital, hoaks keagamaan, dan tekanan sosial yang berpotensi memengaruhi kualitas keimanan generasi Muslim. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis konsep tsabat dalam Q.S. Al-Ankabut ayat 2–4, mengidentifikasi relevansinya terhadap tantangan era disrupsi teknologi dan AI, serta mengkaji implikasinya bagi pendidikan Islam. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kepustakaan dan metode tafsir tematik (maudhu‘i). Sumber data primer meliputi Al-Qur’an, Tafsir Al-Mishbah, dan Tafsir Al-Azhar, sedangkan data sekunder berasal dari artikel ilmiah dan literatur yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tsabat merupakan keteguhan iman yang dibentuk melalui proses ujian (fitnah) sebagai sunnatullah untuk membedakan antara orang yang benar-benar beriman dan yang hanya mengaku beriman. Dalam konteks kontemporer, perkembangan teknologi dan AI dapat dipahami sebagai bentuk ujian keimanan yang menuntut resiliensi spiritual, integritas moral, dan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa nilai tsabat memiliki relevansi pedagogis sebagai landasan pembentukan karakter peserta didik yang adaptif, berakhlak, dan bijak dalam memanfaatkan teknologi sesuai dengan nilai-nilai Islam.
