Gestational diabetes mellitus is a serious health threat that contributes significantly to maternal and infant morbidity and mortality due to complications such as hypertension and macrosomia. Prevention of this condition depends heavily on maternal understanding and preventive behaviors during pregnancy. This study aims to analyze the level of knowledge of pregnant women regarding gestational diabetes in the Sawah Lebar Community Health Center (Puskesmas) work area, Bengkulu City. This quantitative study employed a descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. Sampling was conducted using a total sampling technique, involving 45 pregnant women visiting the community health center as respondents using a questionnaire. Data analysis was performed to describe the frequency distribution of respondents' knowledge levels. The results indicate that pregnant women's understanding of gestational diabetes is still relatively low. Quantitative data revealed that the majority of respondents, 19 (42.2%), had poor knowledge. Meanwhile, 14 (31.1%) respondents had adequate knowledge, and a minority of only 12 (26.7%) had good knowledge. The main conclusion of this study confirms that the level of knowledge of pregnant women in the study area is still largely inadequate, necessitating intensified education and more effective dissemination of health information to minimize the risk of pregnancy complications.
