PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF JIGSAW TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR SISWA KELAS IV PADA MATERI IPA

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model on the science learning outcomes of fourth-grade elementary school students. The study employed a quantitative approach using an experimental method with a One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The participants consisted of 21 fourth-grade students of MI Ma'arif NU 5 Sekampung. Data were collected through learning achievement tests administered before and after the treatment and analyzed using descriptive statistics and a paired sample t-test with IBM SPSS Statistics. The findings indicated that the implementation of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model improved students' learning outcomes, as reflected by the increase in the posttest mean score. Hypothesis testing revealed a significant difference between students' learning outcomes before and after the implementation of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model. Furthermore, the effect size analysis indicated that the model had a very large effect on improving students' learning outcomes. Therefore, the Jigsaw cooperative learning model can be used as an effective alternative to improve science learning outcomes in elementary schools.

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas IV pada materi IPA. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen dan desain One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada 21 siswa kelas IV MI Ma'arif NU 5 Sekampung. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes hasil belajar yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan paired sample t-test dengan bantuan IBM SPSS Statistics. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa, yang ditunjukkan oleh peningkatan nilai rata-rata setelah perlakuan. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil belajar sebelum dan sesudah penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw. Analisis effect size juga menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran memberikan pengaruh yang sangat besar terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw efektif digunakan sebagai alternatif pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA siswa sekolah dasar.
