Abstract

The use of digital technology in science learning is increasingly important in supporting interactive learning that aligns with the demands of the Kurikulum Merdeka. This study aims to analyze the implementation of digital technology in science learning under the Kurikulum Merdeka at SMP Negeri 4 Sukasada, to identify the challenges faced by teachers, and to examine the adaptation strategies employed in integrating digital technology into the learning process. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. The subjects consisted of 2 science teachers and 30 eighth-grade students. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation study. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that teachers have utilized various digital tools such as PowerPoint, Canva, Quizizz, Kahoot, Google Forms, instructional videos, and other digital platforms in science instruction. The use of digital technology effectively enhances students' learning motivation, engagement, and comprehension. However, the implementation still encounters several challenges, including disparities in students' digital literacy skills, limitations in selecting appropriate media, and internet network constraints. To overcome these challenges, teachers applied adaptation strategies such as utilizing simpler media, collaborating with peers, and conducting digital-based evaluations. Overall, the implementation of digital technology in science learning delivers a positive impact, although further improvements in infrastructure support and teacher competence are still required to ensure optimal technology integration. This study contributes by identifying teachers' adaptation strategies in addressing the obstacles of digital technology integration in junior high school science learning within the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka.

ABSTRAK

Pemanfaatan teknologi digital dalam pembelajaran IPA semakin penting dalam mendukung pembelajaran yang interaktif dan sesuai dengan tuntutan Kurikulum Merdeka.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi teknologi digital dalam pembelajaran IPA dengan Kurikulum Merdeka di SMP Negeri 4 Sukasada, mengetahui tantangan yang dihadapi guru, serta strategi adaptasi yang dilakukan dalam mengintegrasikan teknologi digital pada proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 2 guru IPA dan 30 siswa kelas VIII. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru telah memanfaatkan berbagai teknologi digital seperti PowerPoint, Canva, Quizizz, Kahoot, Google Form, video pembelajaran, dan platform digital lainnya dalam proses pembelajaran IPA. Pemanfaatan teknologi digital memberikan pengalaman belajar yang lebih interaktif dan memperoleh respons positif dari siswa, terutama dalam mendukung motivasi, keterlibatan, dan kemudahan siswa dalam memahami materi pembelajaran. Namun, implementasi teknologi digital masih menghadapi beberapa tantangan, seperti perbedaan kemampuan literasi digital siswa, keterbatasan dalam memilih media yang sesuai, serta kendala jaringan internet. Untuk mengatasi tantangan tersebut, guru menerapkan berbagai strategi adaptasi seperti penggunaan media yang sederhana, berdiskusi dengan rekan sejawat, dan evaluasi berbasis digital. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, implementasi teknologi digital dalam pembelajaran IPA memberikan dampak positif terhadap proses pembelajaran, meskipun masih diperlukan peningkatan dukungan infrastruktur dan kompetensi guru agar integrasi teknologi dapat berjalan lebih optimal. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi berupa identifikasi strategi adaptasi guru dalam mengatasi kendala integrasi teknologi digital pada pembelajaran IPA di tingkat SMP dalam implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka.
