Abstract

ABSTRACT

The rapid development of digital technology has encouraged higher education institutions to transform learning practices into systems that are more flexible, interactive, and student-centered. In this context, a digital-based curriculum serves not only as a medium for digitizing learning materials but also as a framework that integrates technology into the planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning processes. This article examines the implementation of a digital-based curriculum and its contribution to learning innovation in higher education. This study employs a literature review approach by examining various scholarly sources related to digital transformation, educational innovation management, and curriculum development. The collected data were analyzed using content analysis to identify key themes, interrelationships among concepts, and the implications of curriculum implementation in higher education settings. The findings indicate that a digital-based curriculum supports personalized learning, enhances student engagement, and strengthens 21st-century competencies, including creativity, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. The study also reveals that the effectiveness of learning innovation is strongly influenced by systematic curriculum management through continuous planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation processes. Furthermore, an analysis of case studies reported in the literature shows that 53.5% of students have achieved an advanced level of digital competence, while the remaining 46.5% are still at intermediate and basic levels. Challenges in implementation include limited infrastructure, resistance to change, the need for technical support, and variations in the quality of digital content. Therefore, a digital-based curriculum serves as a strategic instrument for supporting innovative and sustainable learning transformation in higher education.

ABSTRAK

Perkembangan teknologi digital mendorong perguruan tinggi untuk mengubah praktik pembelajaran menuju sistem yang lebih fleksibel, interaktif, dan berorientasi pada kebutuhan mahasiswa. Dalam konteks tersebut, kurikulum berbasis digital tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai sarana digitalisasi materi, tetapi juga menjadi kerangka yang mengintegrasikan teknologi dalam perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi pembelajaran. Artikel ini mengkaji implementasi kurikulum berbasis digital serta kontribusinya terhadap inovasi pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi. Kajian dilakukan melalui studi literatur dengan menelaah berbagai sumber ilmiah yang membahas transformasi digital, manajemen inovasi pendidikan, dan pengembangan kurikulum. Data dianalisis menggunakan content analysis untuk mengidentifikasi tema-tema utama, hubungan antarkonsep, serta implikasi penerapannya dalam pendidikan tinggi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa kurikulum berbasis digital mendukung personalisasi pembelajaran, meningkatkan keterlibatan mahasiswa, dan memperkuat kompetensi abad ke-21, seperti kreativitas, kolaborasi, komunikasi, berpikir kritis, serta pemecahan masalah. Temuan juga memperlihatkan bahwa efektivitas inovasi pembelajaran sangat dipengaruhi oleh pengelolaan kurikulum yang sistematis melalui perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi berkelanjutan. Analisis terhadap studi kasus yang dilaporkan dalam literatur menunjukkan bahwa 53,5% mahasiswa telah mencapai kompetensi digital tingkat advanced, sedangkan 46,5% lainnya masih berada pada tingkat menengah dan dasar. Tantangan implementasi meliputi keterbatasan infrastruktur, resistensi terhadap perubahan, kebutuhan dukungan teknis, dan kualitas konten digital. Dengan demikian, kurikulum berbasis digital menjadi instrumen penting dalam mendukung transformasi pembelajaran yang inovatif dan berkelanjutan di perguruan tinggi.
