ABSTRACT
This article is motivated by the need for a learning model that can integrate conceptual mastery with the development of critical thinking skills in accordance with the demands of the Merdeka Curriculum and 21st-century learning. The purpose of this article is to conceptually examine the SUDIANG (Summary, Discussion, Analysis, Go Into Action) learning model as an innovative strategy to enhance students’ critical thinking skills in Biology learning. This study employs a literature review method by analyzing various relevant national and international research published between 2015 and 2024. The findings reveal that the SUDIANG model is rooted in social constructivism and reflective learning theories, emphasizing active student engagement through activities of summarizing, discussing, analyzing, and applying biological concepts in real-life contexts. Each stage contributes to strengthening students’ cognitive, metacognitive, and affective domains, thereby supporting the development of higher-order thinking skills (HOTS), scientific collaboration, and scientific literacy. The model also aligns with the orientation of the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes contextual and project-based learning. Therefore, SUDIANG can serve as a reflective, comprehensive, and adaptive learning model that meets the demands of 21st-century education, particularly in improving critical thinking skills and the application of biological concepts in everyday life.
ABSTRAK
Penulisan artikel ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan akan model pembelajaran yang mampu mengintegrasikan penguasaan konsep dan pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis sesuai tuntutan Kurikulum Merdeka dan pembelajaran abad ke-21. Tujuan penulisan artikel ini adalah untuk mengkaji secara konseptual model pembelajaran SUDIANG (Summary, Discussion, Analysis, Go Into Action) sebagai strategi inovatif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik dalam pembelajaran Biologi. Penulisan artikel ini menggunakan metode studi literatur (literature review) dengan menganalisis berbagai hasil penelitian nasional dan internasional yang relevan dalam rentang tahun 2015-2024. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa model SUDIANG berakar pada teori konstruktivisme sosial dan pembelajaran reflektif yang menekankan keterlibatan aktif peserta didik melalui kegiatan meringkas, berdiskusi, menganalisis, dan menerapkan konsep Biologi secara nyata. Setiap tahap berkontribusi terhadap penguatan aspek kognitif, metakognitif, dan afektif peserta didik, sehingga mendukung pengembangan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi (HOTS), kolaborasi ilmiah, dan literasi sains. Model ini juga relevan dengan orientasi Kurikulum Merdeka yang menekankan pembelajaran kontekstual dan berbasis proyek. Dengan demikian, SUDIANG dapat menjadi model pembelajaran reflektif yang komprehensif dan adaptif terhadap tuntutan abad ke-21, khususnya dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan penerapan konsep Biologi dalam kehidupan nyata.
