PENGARUH PERAN GURU DALAM MEMBENTUK SIKAP TOLERANSI MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN IPAS PADA SISWA KELAS IV SD

Character education, particularly the cultivation of tolerance values, is an urgent necessity amid Indonesia’s ethnic, cultural, and religious diversity. However, tolerance value integration through Natural and Social Science (IPAS) learning at the elementary school level remains largely underexplored. This study analyzes the influence of teachers’ roles in shaping students’ tolerance attitudes through IPAS learning among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Rumah Tiga, Ambon, Maluku. A quantitative pre-experimental One Group Pretest-Posttest design was employed. The sample consisted of 33 students, with data collected through teacher role and tolerance attitude questionnaires tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using Paired Sample T-Test and simple linear regression. Results showed an increase in mean tolerance scores from 46.19 at pretest to 52.65 at posttest. The Paired Sample T-Test yielded a significance value of 0.002 (sig. < 0.05), while regression analysis produced a t-value of 5.563 > t-table 2.039 with sig. 0.000. The coefficient of determination indicated R² = 0.500, meaning teachers’ roles contributed 50% to students’ tolerance attitude formation. This study concludes that teachers’ roles positively and significantly influence students’ tolerance attitudes through IPAS learning, and a locally-based learning module proved effective in cultivating tolerance values.
ABSTRAK
Pendidikan karakter, khususnya penanaman nilai toleransi, menjadi kebutuhan mendesak di tengah kemajemukan masyarakat Indonesia yang beragam secara etnis, budaya, dan agama. Namun, integrasi nilai toleransi secara eksplisit melalui pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) di sekolah dasar masih kurang mendapat perhatian dalam literatur akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh peran guru dalam membentuk sikap toleransi melalui pembelajaran IPAS pada siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 1 Rumah Tiga, Kota Ambon, Maluku. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pra-eksperimen One Group Pretest-Posttest. Sampel berjumlah 33 siswa, dengan instrumen angket peran guru dan angket sikap toleransi yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Analisis data menggunakan uji Paired Sample T-Test dan regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata sikap toleransi dari pretest 46,19 menjadi 52,65 pada posttest. Uji Paired Sample T-Test menghasilkan nilai signifikansi 0,002 (sig. < 0,05), dan uji regresi menghasilkan t-hitung 5,563 > t-tabel 2,039 dengan sig. 0,000. Koefisien determinasi menunjukkan R² = 0,500, artinya peran guru berkontribusi 50% terhadap pembentukan sikap toleransi siswa. Disimpulkan bahwa peran guru berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap sikap toleransi siswa kelas IV melalui pembelajaran IPAS, dan penggunaan modul berbasis kearifan lokal terbukti efektif sebagai media penanaman nilai toleransi pada siswa.
