PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN E-MODUL TERHADAP PENINGKATAN LITERASI SAINS PESERTA DIDIK DI SMP NEGERI 1 GUNUNGSITOLI ALO'OA

ABSTRACT
The low level of students’ scientific literacy, particularly in the aspects of concept application and scientific reasoning, indicates a gap between the demands of the Merdeka Curriculum and teacher-centered instructional practices at SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Alo’oa. The use of interactive digital media has not been optimized, highlighting the need for more contextual and participatory learning innovations. This study aims to analyze the effect of E-module implementation on improving students’ scientific literacy. The research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of two purposively selected classes: an experimental class (using E-modules) and a control class (conventional learning). Data were collected through valid and reliable scientific literacy tests and questionnaires and analyzed using an Independent Samples t-test (α = 0.05). The results revealed a significant difference (Sig. < 0.05), with the experimental class achieving higher mean scores. These findings confirm that E-modules effectively enhance scientific literacy and provide empirical support for strengthening digital learning implementation within the Merdeka Curriculum at the junior secondary level.
ABSTRAK
Rendahnya literasi sains peserta didik, khususnya pada aspek penerapan konsep dan penalaran ilmiah, menunjukkan adanya kesenjangan antara tuntutan Kurikulum Merdeka dan praktik pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada guru di SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Alo’oa. Pemanfaatan media digital interaktif belum optimal, sehingga diperlukan inovasi pembelajaran yang lebih kontekstual dan partisipatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan E-modul terhadap peningkatan literasi sains siswa. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain quasi experiment tipe Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sampel terdiri atas dua kelas yang dipilih secara purposive, yaitu kelas eksperimen (menggunakan E-modul) dan kelas kontrol (pembelajaran konvensional). Data dikumpulkan melalui tes dan angket literasi sains yang valid dan reliabel, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan Independent Sample t-test (α = 0,05). Hasil menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan (Sig. < 0,05) dengan rata-rata literasi sains kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa E-modul efektif meningkatkan literasi sains dan memberikan kontribusi empiris terhadap penguatan pembelajaran digital berbasis Kurikulum Merdeka di tingkat SMP.
