Abstract

The revitalization of vocational education requires Vocational High Schools (SMK) to undergo a massive transformation to produce graduates relevant to industry needs. Amidst the dynamics of urban areas, changes in curriculum policies, and highly dynamic workloads, vocational high school teacher performance is the most crucial factor in determining teaching effectiveness. This study aims to analyze and synthesize the causal relationships between principals' transformational leadership, self-efficacy, psychological well-being, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment on vocational high school teacher performance, with contextual challenges in the metropolitan area of Depok City. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach with the PRISMA 2020 protocol, 25 articles from reputable national (SINTA) and international (Scopus) scientific journals from 2016–2026 were synthesized in depth. The results confirm that transformational leadership acts as a driver of the teaching ecosystem, while self-efficacy and organizational commitment serve as direct predictors of instructional performance. Job satisfaction and psychological well-being have been shown to play a significant mediating and protective role in reducing burnout due to the implementation of new policies such as Ministerial Regulation No. 11 of 2025 concerning the Fulfillment of Teacher Workloads and the dialectical implementation of the Academic Ability Test (TKA) based on Ministerial Regulation No. 9 of 2025. This study produces a new integrative conceptual framework that balances the managerial, cognitive-personal, emotional, and behavioral aspects of vocational teachers' work.
