CIRCUIT TRAINING MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MENGGIRING BOLA PEMAIN GARUDA FC

ABSTRACT
Dribbling ability is one of the most important basic skills in soccer because it plays a significant role in maintaining ball possession, bypassing opponents, creating attacking opportunities, and supporting overall team performance. Based on observations conducted on Garuda FC Masbagik players, the players’ dribbling ability was still not optimal, particularly in maintaining speed and ball control during directional changes. This study aimed to analyze the effect of circuit training on the dribbling ability of Garuda FC Masbagik soccer players in 2025. The study employed a quasi-experimental method using a one group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 12 players aged approximately 17 years selected through a simple random sampling technique. The research instrument used was a zig-zag dribbling test measured in seconds. The treatment was conducted through 15 sessions of circuit training integrating lower-body strength, speed, agility, coordination, and ball control exercises. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, and a paired sample t-test. The results showed that circuit training significantly improved the players’ dribbling ability, as indicated by the decrease in average completion time from 20.77 seconds to 19.30 seconds, representing a performance improvement of 7.09%. These findings indicate that integrated circuit training is effective for developing the skills of youth soccer players.
ABSTRAK
Kemampuan menggiring bola merupakan salah satu keterampilan dasar yang sangat penting dalam permainan sepak bola karena berperan dalam mempertahankan penguasaan bola, melewati lawan, membuka ruang serangan, dan mendukung efektivitas permainan tim. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan pada pemain Garuda FC Masbagik, kemampuan dribbling pemain masih belum optimal, terutama dalam menjaga kecepatan dan kontrol bola saat melakukan perubahan arah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh latihan circuit training terhadap kemampuan menggiring bola pemain sepak bola Garuda FC Masbagik Tahun 2025. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen semu dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 12 pemain usia sekitar 17 tahun yang dipilih menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan tes zig-zag dribbling dengan satuan waktu tempuh dalam detik. Perlakuan diberikan dalam bentuk latihan circuit training selama 15 pertemuan yang mengintegrasikan latihan kekuatan tungkai, kecepatan, kelincahan, koordinasi, dan kontrol bola. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif, uji normalitas Shapiro-Wilk, dan paired sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa latihan circuit training mampu meningkatkan kemampuan menggiring bola pemain secara signifikan, ditunjukkan oleh penurunan rata-rata waktu tempuh dari 20,77 detik menjadi 19,30 detik dengan peningkatan performa sebesar 7,09%. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa latihan terpadu berbasis circuit training efektif digunakan dalam pembinaan pemain sepak bola usia muda.
