HUBUNGAN CODEPENDENCY DENGAN LONELINESS PADA GEN-Z

Codependent relationships are patterns in which individuals rely excessively on the needs and approval of others, to the point of neglecting their own personal needs. This condition can contribute to feelings of worthlessness, which in turn increases the risk of loneliness. loneliness is widely experienced by Generation Z, with more than half of its members reported feeling lonely across various social relationship contexts. This study aims to examine the relationship between codependency and loneliness among Generation Z. A quantitative approach with a correlational survey design was used. The participants consisted of 404 Generation Z individuals recruited through online sampling techniques. The instruments used were the Spann-Fischer Codependency Scale and the UCLA loneliness Scale Version 3, both of which had been adapted into Indonesian. Data were analyzed using Pearson’s Product-Moment Correlation. The results showed a significant positive relationship between codependency and loneliness among Generation Z (r = 0.503; p < 0.05). These findings indicate that the higher an individual's level of codependency, the higher their level of loneliness.
ABSTRAK
Codependent relationship merupakan pola hubungan ketika individu secara berlebihan bergantung pada kebutuhan dan persetujuan orang lain, sehingga mengabaikan kebutuhan personalnya sendiri. Kondisi ini dapat berkontribusi pada munculnya perasaan tidak berharga yang kemudian meningkatkan risiko loneliness. Fenomena loneliness banyak dialami oleh Generasi Z, dengan lebih dari setengah anggotanya dilaporkan merasakan kesepian dalam berbagai konteks hubungan sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara codependency dengan loneliness pada Generasi Z. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain survei korelasional. Partisipan berjumlah 404 orang Generasi Z yang diperoleh melalui teknik sampling daring. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu Spann-Fischer Codependency Scale dan UCLA loneliness Scale Version 3 yang telah diadaptasi ke bahasa Indonesia. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah Pearson Product-Moment Correlation. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara codependency dengan loneliness pada Generasi Z (r = 0,503; p < 0,05). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa semakin tinggi tingkat codependency individu, semakin tinggi pula tingkat loneliness yang dialaminya.
