Cyberbullying among adolescents is an important concern in education because it can negatively affect mental health, social relationships, and students’ learning environments. Therefore, appropriate guidance and counseling services are needed to help students understand the consequences of digital bullying and develop positive social behaviors. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of group counseling using discussion techniques in reducing cyberbullying behavior among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Palu. A quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design was employed. The participants were 12 students selected through purposive sampling based on preliminary survey results and recommendations from school counselors. Data were collected using a cyberbullying behavior scale administered before and after six group counseling sessions. The data were analyzed descriptively and using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test at a 5% significance level. The results showed that before the intervention, six students were classified in the very high category and six in the high category. Following the intervention, all participants were classified in the very low category. These findings indicate that group counseling using discussion techniques may serve as an alternative counseling strategy for reducing cyberbullying behavior in schools.
