GAMBARAN PEMERIKSAAN RHEUMATOID FACTOR PADA LANSIA DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS PUCANG SEWU SURABAYA

Rheumatoid Factor (RF) is an autoantibody commonly used as a supporting laboratory test for the identification of Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). Rheumatoid Arthritis is an autoimmune disease characterized by chronic inflammation of the joints and may occur among older adults. This study aimed to describe the results of Rheumatoid Factor examination among elderly individuals in the working area of Pucang Sewu Public Health Center, Surabaya. This study employed a descriptive design involving 34 elderly respondents selected using purposive sampling based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Rheumatoid Factor examination was performed using the latex agglutination method. Samples with reactive results were subsequently examined using a semi-quantitative method to determine the Rheumatoid Factor titer. Data were analyzed descriptively and presented in frequency distribution tables based on Rheumatoid Factor results, sex, and age group. The results showed that 31 respondents (91.2%) had negative Rheumatoid Factor results, while 3 respondents (8.8%) had positive results. All respondents with positive results had a Rheumatoid Factor titer of 16 IU/mL. Based on sex, all positive results were found among male respondents. Based on age group, positive results were found among respondents aged 60–69 years and 80–89 years. It can be concluded that most elderly individuals in the working area of Pucang Sewu Public Health Center, Surabaya, had negative Rheumatoid Factor results, while a small proportion had positive results with low titers.
ABSTRAK
Rheumatoid Factor (RF) merupakan salah satu autoantibodi yang digunakan sebagai pemeriksaan penunjang dalam identifikasi Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). Rheumatoid Arthritis merupakan penyakit autoimun yang ditandai dengan peradangan kronis pada sendi dan dapat ditemukan pada kelompok lanjut usia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran hasil pemeriksaan Rheumatoid Factor pada lansia di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Pucang Sewu Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif dengan melibatkan 34 responden lansia yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Pemeriksaan Rheumatoid Factor dilakukan menggunakan metode aglutinasi lateks. Sampel dengan hasil reaktif selanjutnya diperiksa secara semikuantitatif untuk menentukan titer Rheumatoid Factor. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan disajikan dalam bentuk tabel distribusi frekuensi berdasarkan hasil pemeriksaan Rheumatoid Factor, jenis kelamin, dan kelompok usia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 31 responden (91,2%) memiliki hasil Rheumatoid Factor negatif, sedangkan 3 responden (8,8%) menunjukkan hasil positif. Seluruh responden dengan hasil positif memiliki titer Rheumatoid Factor sebesar 16 IU/mL. Berdasarkan jenis kelamin, seluruh hasil positif ditemukan pada responden laki-laki. Berdasarkan kelompok usia, hasil positif ditemukan pada kelompok usia 60–69 tahun dan 80–89 tahun. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa sebagian besar lansia di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Pucang Sewu Surabaya memiliki hasil Rheumatoid Factor negatif, sedangkan sebagian kecil menunjukkan hasil positif dengan titer rendah.
