Research on fixed mindset, growth mindset, and learning motivation among adult learners remains fragmented. This study combines a systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis to provide a comprehensive synthesis of the evidence and map the development of research in this field. This systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis examines the relationship between fixed mindset versus growth mindset as predictors of learning motivation in adult learners. A comprehensive search of Scopus and Google Scholar databases (2015-2025) yielded 18 high-quality articles meeting inclusion criteria. Analysis demonstrates that growth mindset shows significant positive correlation with learning motivation (r = 0.35-0.68), while fixed mindset exhibits consistent negative associations. This relationship is mediated by self-efficacy, goal orientation, and academic resilience. Bibliometric network analysis identifies five thematic clusters: (1) individual psychological dimensions and intrinsic motivation, (2) research on secondary student populations with engagement focus, (3) resilience and autonomous motivation, (4) entrepreneurial mindset and capability development, and (5) learning motivation in formal academic contexts. Findings reveal growth mindset is most effective in supportive learning environments with constructive feedback. Contemporary research reveals moderating complexity: growth mindset combined with unrealistic expectations can generate academic anxiety. Significant research gaps identified include: geographic concentration in Western countries (78%), dominance of cross-sectional designs (78%), and limited intervention research on heterogeneous adult populations. Future research should prioritize longitudinal designs, intervention studies in non-Western contexts, and investigation of mindset transition mechanisms in adult populations.
