HUBUNGAN SELF-REGULATED LEARNING DENGAN EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS SISWA KEJURUAN TEKNIK PERANCANGAN DAN GAMBAR MESIN

The open unemployment rate of vocational high school (SMK) graduates reached 9.60 percent in February 2023, the highest among all education levels. This study examined the relationship between self-regulated learning and employability skills among students of the Mechanical Design and Drafting program at a public vocational high school in Bekasi City. The study surveyed 164 of 277 students, a sample size set with the Slovin formula at a 5 percent margin of error. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires comprising 26 employability skills items (Cronbach's alpha = 0.788) and 20 self-regulated learning items (Cronbach's alpha = 0.785) and analysed with Pearson product-moment correlation after assumption testing. Seventy percent of the students showed employability skills in the moderate category, while 48 percent showed self-regulated learning in the low category. The two variables were positively and significantly correlated (r = 0.532, p < 0.05) at a moderate level, and self-regulated learning accounted for 28.3 percent of the variance in employability skills. The lowest mean item scores appeared in the motivational indicator of self-regulated learning and the learning indicator of employability skills. Schools can use these findings to train learning planning, self-monitoring, and study habits within technical drawing instruction.
