ABSTRACT
The increasingly dynamic demands of the workplace require university graduates to possess adequate technical competencies, interpersonal skills, adaptability, and work readiness. Industrial Field Work Practice (PKLI) is a learning experience that can help students connect academic knowledge with real-world job demands. However, the quality of PKLI experiences may vary among students, making it necessary to examine their influence on work readiness. This study aimed to analyze the effect of PKLI experience on the work readiness of students in the Building Engineering Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Medan. The study employed a quantitative approach with an ex post facto design. The sample consisted of 42 students (N = 42) from the 2021 and 2022 cohorts who had completed PKLI. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews and analyzed using simple linear regression and a t-test. The results showed that PKLI experience had a positive and significant effect on students' work readiness, with a regression coefficient of 1.808, a calculated t-value of 11.931 > 2.021, and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The R Square value of 0.781 indicated that PKLI experience contributed 78.1% to the variation in work readiness, while the remaining 21.9% was explained by other factors outside the model. Therefore, PKLI experience plays an important role in improving students' work readiness.

Tuntutan dunia kerja yang semakin dinamis menuntut lulusan perguruan tinggi memiliki kompetensi teknis, keterampilan interpersonal, kemampuan beradaptasi, dan kesiapan kerja yang memadai. Praktik Kerja Lapangan Industri (PKLI) menjadi salah satu pengalaman pembelajaran yang dapat membantu mahasiswa menghubungkan pengetahuan akademik dengan tuntutan pekerjaan nyata. Namun, kualitas pengalaman PKLI yang diperoleh mahasiswa dapat berbeda sehingga perlu dikaji pengaruhnya terhadap kesiapan kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh pengalaman PKLI terhadap kesiapan kerja mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Bangunan Universitas Negeri Medan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain ex post facto. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas 42 mahasiswa (N = 42) stambuk 2021 dan 2022 yang telah menyelesaikan PKLI. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket dan wawancara, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan regresi linear sederhana dan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengalaman PKLI berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kesiapan kerja dengan koefisien regresi sebesar 1,808, nilai t hitung 11,931 > 2,021, dan signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05. Nilai R Square sebesar 0,781 menunjukkan bahwa pengalaman PKLI memberikan kontribusi sebesar 78,1% terhadap variasi kesiapan kerja, sedangkan 21,9% dijelaskan oleh faktor lain di luar model. Dengan demikian, pengalaman PKLI berperan penting dalam meningkatkan kesiapan kerja mahasiswa.
