Abstract

The development of digital technology has significantly transformed the educational landscape, including Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This transformation has led to a shift in teacher authority, where teachers are no longer the sole source of knowledge but share their roles with digital media and online learning platforms. This study aims to examine the shift in the authority of Islamic education teachers in digital-based learning and the factors influencing this transformation. Using a qualitative literature review approach, this research analyzes various national and international scholarly articles related to digital learning, teacher authority, and Islamic education. The findings indicate that the shift in teacher authority is characterized by the increasing role of digital media, the transformation of teachers into facilitators, and the emergence of alternative religious authorities through social media and online platforms. Nevertheless, teachers remain essential in guiding students, validating religious knowledge, and shaping students’ moral and spiritual character. Therefore, strengthening digital competence and pedagogical skills is crucial to maintaining the authority and relevance of Islamic education teachers in the digital era.

ABSTRAK

Perkembangan teknologi digital telah membawa perubahan signifikan dalam dunia pendidikan, termasuk dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI). Transformasi ini berdampak langsung pada pergeseran otoritas guru yang sebelumnya menjadi satu-satunya sumber pengetahuan, kini berbagi peran dengan media digital dan sumber belajar daring. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara komprehensif bagaimana pergeseran otoritas guru PAI terjadi dalam konteks pembelajaran berbasis media digital, serta faktor-faktor yang memengaruhinya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kepustakaan dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif terhadap berbagai artikel ilmiah nasional dan internasional yang relevan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pergeseran otoritas guru PAI ditandai oleh meningkatnya peran teknologi sebagai sumber belajar, perubahan peran guru menjadi fasilitator, serta munculnya otoritas alternatif seperti media sosial dan platform digital keagamaan. Meskipun demikian, guru tetap memiliki peran strategis dalam membimbing, memvalidasi informasi, serta membentuk karakter dan nilai keislaman peserta didik. Oleh karena itu, penguatan kompetensi digital dan pedagogik guru PAI menjadi kebutuhan mendesak agar otoritas keilmuan dan moral tetap terjaga di era digital.
