The phenomenon of cyberslacking in the digital workplace poses serious challenges to productivity, particularly in the service industry, which demands high performance. This study aims to empirically analyze the effect of cyberslacking on the task performance of employees at PT Maheswari Pasupati Bali, by positioning locus of control as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative approach through a survey method, data were collected from 73 employees and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (Smart-PLS). The study's findings indicate that cyberslacking has a significant negative impact on employees' locus of control, but does not have a significant direct effect on task performance. Furthermore, locus of control was not shown to act as a mediator in the relationship between cyberslacking and task performance. The main conclusion of this study indicates that although non-work digital activities can weaken self-control, their impact on actual work outcomes is relatively minimal. Therefore, organizational strategies are recommended to focus more on strengthening employee psychological well-being through self-management interventions to mitigate the potential long-term impact of cyberslacking behavior on professional accountability.
