This study aims to examine the relationship between the experience of being a victim of cyberbullying and self-regulation skills in late adolescent social media users. A quantitative correlational approach was used, involving 310 adolescents aged 18–21 who actively use social media for more than 4 hours per day. Data in this study were collected online using the Cyberbullying Victimization Scale (9 items) to measure victimization experiences and the Short Self-Regulation Questionnaire (40 items) to measure self-regulation. The results of the Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis showed a strong and significant positive relationship (r = 0.690; p < 0.001), meaning that the more frequently adolescents experience cyberbullying as victims, the higher their level of self-regulation. The distribution of categorizations supports this finding, with 67.7% of respondents at high victimization levels and 68.4% at high self-regulation levels. No significant differences were found based on gender. These findings indicate that repeated exposure to cyberbullying can trigger increased self-regulation as an adaptive and protective mechanism in late adolescents.
