FACTORS AND INTERVENTION STRATEGIES OF WORK READINESS AMONG FINAL-YEAR PSYCHOLOGY COLLEGE STUDENTS: A SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW

The gap between students' skills and industry needs has contributed to a high unemployment rate in Indonesia. Most recent graduates lack practical skills, indicating that they are not fully prepared to enter the workforce. This study aims to identify the factors influencing work readiness among students and the relevant interventions to enhance their readiness. The research method used is a systematic literature review, following the PRISMA guidelines to select quality articles. Articles were gathered from databases including Google Scholar, Publish or Perish, and Scopus from 2016 to 2025. A total of 26 articles met the inclusion criteria. The main factors identified for work readiness include self-efficacy, entrepreneurial behavior, and adaptability, with interventions such as integrated learning, internship programs, workshops, internationalization programs, and networking access to the labor market. Specifically, self-efficacy was found to contribute up to 75% in enhancing work readiness. The findings of this study are important for the development of curricula that integrate real-world work experience into psychology programs.
ABSTRAK
Kesenjangan antara keahlian mahasiswa dan kebutuhan industri telah berkontribusi pada tingginya tingkat pengangguran di Indonesia. Sebagian besar lulusan baru kurang menguasai keterampilan praktis, yang menunjukkan bahwa mereka belum sepenuhnya siap untuk memasuki dunia kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kesiapan kerja mahasiswa serta intervensi yang relevan untuk meningkatkan kesiapan tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tinjauan literatur sistematis, yang mengikuti pedoman PRISMA untuk menyeleksi artikel-artikel berkualitas. Artikel-artikel dikumpulkan dari database termasuk Google Scholar, Publish or Perish, dan Scopus pada rentang tahun 2016-2025. Sebanyak 26 artikel memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Faktor-faktor utama yang ditemukan untuk kesiapan kerja adalah self-efficacy, perilaku kewirausahaan, dan kemampuan beradaptasi, dengan intervensi seperti pembelajaran terintegrasi, program magang, lokakarya, program internasionalisasi, dan akses jejaring ke pasar kerja. Secara khusus, self-efficacy ditemukan berkontribusi hingga 75% dalam meningkatkan kesiapan kerja. Temuan dari penelitian ini penting untuk pengembangan kurikulum yang mengintegrasikan pengalaman kerja nyata dalam program studi psikologi.
