PENGARUH SPIRITUALITAS TERHADAP SUBJECTIVE HAPPINESS

ABSTRACT
Achieving happiness is an important goal for every individual. One of the concepts in psychology that discusses happiness is subjective happiness. Subjective happiness enables individuals to better adapt and cope with the life problems they encounter. Spirituality is an effort to understand a deeper meaning of personal significance in the context of life after death. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of spirituality on subjective happiness among individuals living in Bandung City. This study involved 159 participants who lived in Bandung and were between 20 and 40 years old. The measurement instruments used in this study were the Subjective Happiness Scale and the Spiritual Transcendence Scale. The validity of both instruments falls into the high and adequate categories, and their reliability is classified as reliable. Data were analyzed using linear regression. The results of the regression analysis showed that spirituality affects the subjective happiness of individuals living in Bandung City. It is recommended that individuals living in Bandung increase their level of spirituality in order to improve their quality of life.
ABSTRAK
Mencapai kebahagiaan menjadi hal yang penting untuk diraih oleh setiap individu. Salah satu konsep dalam psikologi yang membahas mengenai kebahagiaan adalah subjective happiness. Subjective happiness membuat individu menjadi lebih bisa beradaptasi dan mengatasi masalah hidup yang dihadapinya. Spiritualitas merupakan usaha untuk memahami arti mendalam mengenai makna pribadi dalam konteks kehidupan setelah kematian. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh tingkat spiritualitas terhadap subjective happiness pada individu yang tinggal di Kota Bandung. Pada penelitian ini terdapat 159 partisipan dengan karakteristik yang tinggal di Kota Bandung dan berada pada rentang usia 20-40 tahun. Alat ukur yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Subjective Happiness Scale dan Spiritual Transcendence Scale. Kategori validitas kedua alat ukur tersebut termasuk kedalam kategori tinggi dan memadai. Reliabilitas kedua alat ukur tersebut merupakan kategori reliabel. Pengolahan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode regresi linier. Hasil analisis regresi linier menunjukkan bahwa spiritualitas memengaruhi subjective happiness individu yang tinggal di Kota Bandung. Disarankan individu yang tinggal di Kota Bandung, meningkatkan spiritualitasnya agar kualitas hidupnya meningkat.
