Childhood trauma is a traumatic experience that occurs in childhood that can have long-term and serious impacts on an individual's mental and physical health. This study aims to systematically review the scientific literature on the impact of childhood trauma on an individual's personality. A literature search was conducted using the PubMed and Science Direct databases following the PRISMA guidelines showing that childhood trauma, including experiences such as abuse, sexual abuse, and domestic violence, can increase the risk of psychiatric disorders such as chronic anxiety, OCD, borderline personality disorder and increase the risk of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). In addition, individuals who experience childhood trauma tend to experience distrust, difficulty in forming healthy relationships, can increase the aging process and increase the risk of disease and can affect high-frequency heart rate variability in women who experience depression. The impact of this trauma is not only limited to aspects of mental and physical health, but also affects cognitive function, adolescent neural network development, and brain volume
