HUBUNGAN PERAN GURU PENDIDIKAN AGAMA KRISTEN DALAM UPAYA PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER SPIRITUAL SISWA

ABSTRACT
This study aims to examine the relationship between the role of Christian Religious Education (PAK) teachers and the development of elementary students’ spiritual character in the digital era, focusing on SD Negeri Tuhegeho II Gunungsitoli Idanoi. The background of this research is the increasing decline in students’ moral and spiritual behavior due to digital media influences, such as reduced respect for teachers, low participation in spiritual activities, and greater exposure to non-educational digital content. PAK teachers hold a strategic role as spiritual mentors and role models who integrate biblical values into students’ daily lives. Using a quantitative approach with a correlational design, this study investigates the relationship between the teacher’s role (X) and students’ spiritual character (Y). The sample consisted of 24 students selected through simple random sampling. The instrument used was a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, resulting in a high reliability coefficient (? = 0.97). Data analysis included tests of normality, linearity, Pearson correlation, coefficient of determination, and t-test. The results indicated that the data were normally distributed and that the relationship between variables was linear. The Pearson correlation value (r = 0.6051), which exceeded the r-table at the 1% significance level, confirmed a significant relationship. The coefficient of determination (38.36%) showed that the role of PAK teachers contributed strongly to students’ spiritual character formation. This study affirms the essential role of PAK teachers in strengthening students’ spirituality amid digital-era challenges.
ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji hubungan antara peran Guru Pendidikan Agama Kristen (PAK) dengan pembentukan karakter spiritual siswa sekolah dasar di era digital, dengan fokus pada SD Negeri Tuhegeho II Gunungsitoli Idanoi. Latar belakang penelitian didasari oleh maraknya fenomena kemerosotan moral dan spiritual peserta didik akibat pengaruh media digital, seperti menurunnya sikap hormat kepada guru, rendahnya partisipasi dalam kegiatan rohani, serta meningkatnya paparan konten yang tidak mendidik. Guru PAK memiliki posisi strategis sebagai pembimbing rohani dan teladan spiritual yang mampu mengintegrasikan nilai Alkitabiah dalam kehidupan siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional untuk menguji hubungan antara peran guru PAK (X) dan karakter spiritual siswa (Y). Sampel berjumlah 24 siswa yang dipilih melalui simple random sampling. Instrumen berupa angket skala Likert yang telah teruji valid dan reliabel dengan nilai reliabilitas sangat tinggi (? = 0,97). Analisis data meliputi uji normalitas, linearitas, korelasi Pearson, koefisien determinasi, dan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa data berdistribusi normal dan hubungan kedua variabel bersifat linear. Nilai korelasi Pearson (r = 0,6051) melebihi r tabel pada taraf signifikansi 1%, sehingga hubungan dinyatakan signifikan. Koefisien determinasi sebesar 38,36% menunjukkan kontribusi kuat peran guru PAK terhadap karakter spiritual siswa. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya optimalisasi peran guru PAK dalam memperkuat spiritualitas peserta didik di tengah tantangan era digital.
