STRATEGI GURU PAI DALAM MENGINTERNALISASIKAN NILAI-NILAI KHIDMAH PADA SANTRI MELALUI KEGIATAN PENGABDIAN DI PONDOK PESANTREN AL-HIKMAH BLORA

Abstract

Islamic boarding school education is not only oriented toward the mastery of religious knowledge but also toward the development of students’ character through the practice of Islamic values in everyday life. Therefore, the internalization of khidmah values through community service activities is important to investigate in order to understand the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers’ strategies in fostering sincerity, responsibility, discipline, and social awareness among students. This study aims to analyze the strategies employed by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers to internalize khidmah values among students through community service activities at Al-Hikmah Islamic Boarding School in Blora. Khidmah is an important character value in Islamic boarding school education, reflected in sincerity, responsibility, discipline, concern for others, humility, and a willingness to benefit others. This study employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research informants included PAI teachers, Islamic boarding school caregivers or administrators, and students participating in community service activities. Data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the internalization of khidmah values is carried out through several strategies, namely teacher role modeling, habituation through service and community service activities, assigning responsibilities to students, guidance and mentoring, and reflection and evaluation after the activities. Community service activities serve as an educational medium that enables students not only to understand Islamic values theoretically but also to apply them in real-life situations. The khidmah values developed include sincerity in helping others, responsibility, discipline, social awareness, cooperation, independence, and respect for teachers and the community. Thus, community service activities make an important contribution to shaping students’ character by fostering a commitment to benefiting others and a spirit of service to religion, the Islamic boarding school, society, and the nation.
