Abstract

ABSTRACT

Learning outcomes in the Basic Building Construction subject, particularly in the element of Specifications and Characteristics of Green Material–Based Building Materials for Grade X students of the Building Modeling and Information Design Program at SMK Negeri 14 Medan, remain below expectations. This condition indicates that students have not yet achieved optimal understanding of the material and that the previously used learning methods have not been able to foster more active learning engagement. Therefore, an innovation in technology-based learning is needed to help students comprehend concepts in a more directed and interactive manner. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to examine the effectiveness of the Directed Learning model assisted by Smart Apps Creator in improving student learning outcomes in the 2024/2025 academic year. The research subjects consisted of 33 students, and the action was implemented in two cycles, each of which included the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results show a significant improvement. In Cycle I, the average student learning score reached 76.26 with a mastery level of 80.05%, which then increased in Cycle II to 81.41 with a mastery level of 91%. This improvement indicates that the use of the Directed Learning model assisted by Smart Apps Creator not only helps students understand the material more systematically but also enhances their motivation and learning autonomy. Thus, this model is proven to be effective for application in the Basic Building Construction learning process.

Hasil belajar mata pelajaran Dasar-Dasar Konstruksi Bangunan pada elemen Spesifikasi dan Karakteristik Bahan Bangunan Berbasis Green Material di kelas X Program Keahlian Desain Pemodelan dan Informasi Bangunan SMK Negeri 14 Medan masih berada di bawah harapan. Kondisi tersebut menunjukkan bahwa siswa belum mencapai pemahaman optimal terhadap materi, serta metode pembelajaran yang digunakan sebelumnya belum mampu mendorong keterlibatan belajar yang lebih aktif. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan inovasi pembelajaran berbasis teknologi yang mampu membantu siswa memahami konsep secara lebih terarah dan interaktif. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas model Directed Learning berbantuan Smart Apps Creator dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada Tahun Ajaran 2024/2025. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 33 siswa dan pelaksanaan tindakan dilakukan dalam dua siklus, di mana setiap siklus meliputi tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan. Pada Siklus I, nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa mencapai 76,26 dengan ketuntasan 80,05%, kemudian meningkat pada Siklus II menjadi 81,41 dengan ketuntasan 91%. Peningkatan tersebut menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model Directed Learning berbantuan Smart Apps Creator tidak hanya membantu siswa memahami materi secara lebih sistematis, tetapi juga meningkatkan motivasi serta kemandirian belajar mereka. Dengan demikian, model ini terbukti efektif untuk diterapkan dalam pembelajaran Dasar-Dasar Konstruksi Bangunan.
