Abstract

The lack of students' critical thinking skills has been a persistent problem in religious education. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Collaborative Concept Mapping (CCM) and Individual Concept Mapping (ICM) in improving students' critical thinking skills in Al-Qur'an Hadith subjects. This study used a quasi-experimental research design involving 57 students from MTs. North Luwu State, South Sulawesi Province. The manipulation variable in this study is a teaching approach that includes Collaborative Concept Mapping (CCM), Individual Concept Mapping (ICM) and Conventional Methods (CM). While the dependent variable is the critical thinking ability of students in the subjects of Al-Qur'an Hadith. Data were collected using a diagnostic test of critical thinking skills and analyzed using a one-way ANOVA test. The results showed that the level of critical thinking skills was significantly higher among students in the CCM group compared to students in the ICM and CM groups while there was no significant difference in the level of critical thinking skills of students in the ICM and CM groups. This study shows that the CCM approach is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills in Al-Qur'an Hadith subjects, and therefore should be integrated into Al-Qur'an Hadith classroom learning at MTs. North Luwu Country.

ABSTRAK
Kurangnya keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa telah menjadi masalah yang terus-menerus dalam pendidikan agama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas Collaborative Concept Mapping (CCM) dan Individual Concept Mapping (ICM) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran Al-Qur’an Hadits. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian eksperimen semu yang melibatkan 57 siswa dari MTs. Negeri Luwu Utara Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan. Variabel manipulasi dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan pengajaran yang meliputi Collaborative Concept Mapping (CCM), Individual Concept Mapping (ICM) dan Conventional Methode (CM). Sedangkan variabel terikatnya adalah kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran Al-Qur’an Hadits. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes diagnostik keterampilan berpikir kritis dan dianalisis menggunakan tes ANOVA satu arah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat keterampilan berpikir kritis secara signifikan lebih tinggi di antara siswa dalam kelompok CCM dibandingkan dengan siswa dalam kelompok ICM dan CM sementara tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan dalam tingkat keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dalam kelompok ICM dan CM. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan CCM efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dalam mata pelajaran Al-Qur’an Hadits, dan karenanya harus diintegrasikan ke dalam pembelajaran kelas Al-Qur’an Hadits di MTs. Negeri Luwu Utara.
