ABSTRACT
This study aims to examine the impact of overthinking on learning productivity and psychological well-being of students in higher education. Overthinking is a condition in which individuals tend to think excessively and repeatedly about a problem, which is thought to have a negative effect on learning focus and mental state. The research method used was quantitative with a survey approach, involving 100 students as respondents selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire that measured the level of overthinking, learning productivity, and psychological well-being, then analyzed using Pearson correlation analysis. The results showed a significant negative relationship between overthinking and learning productivity (r = -0.65, p < 0.01) and psychological well-being (r = -0.70, p < 0.01). This finding indicates that the higher the level of overthinking, the lower the students' learning productivity and psychological well-being. Therefore, efforts are needed from universities to provide psychological support and stress management training to help students overcome overthinking and improve academic performance and mental well-being. This research is expected to serve as a basis for the development of mental health programs on campus.
