ABSTRACT
This Best Practice aimed to overcome students’ difficulties in teaching-learning activities due to the differences in students' abilities to understand English learning and their tendency to form exclusive. Therefore, the teacher facilitated group work learning using the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model with heterogeneous grouping. The research method employed a quantitative approach using observations and questionnaires. From the questionnaire results, 80% of students agreed that they could work well within their groups, 96% felt happy working in their groups even with peers they usually do not play with, and 62% believed they could improve their project outcomes, especially after seeing the results of other groups. It can be concluded that the implementation of PjBL using the gallery walk strategy can improve students' learning comprehension and enhance interaction among students in the classroom, who tend to form exclusive and passive groups. Heterogeneous groupings determined by the teacher and agreed-upon rules enabled students to learn to discuss and collaborate effectively, striving to perform their best in their projects.
