ABSTRACT
The low level of students’ interest in Science (IPA) subjects at the elementary school level highlights the need for engaging and meaningful learning approaches. This article presents a theoretical analysis of the relationship between the implementation of the joyful learning approach and the enhancement of students’ learning interest in Science education at elementary schools. The study employed a library research method by reviewing various scholarly sources, including reference books, conference proceedings, and national as well as international journal articles published between 2015 and 2025. The literature was collected from academic databases such as Google Scholar, ERIC, and ResearchGate, and analyzed using content analysis to interpret relevant educational theories, particularly the Self-Determination Theory and Constructivism. The results indicate that a positive, enjoyable, and interactive learning atmosphere can foster intrinsic motivation, stimulate curiosity, and strengthen students’ active participation in Science learning activities. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of joyful learning has a positive impact on increasing elementary students’ learning interest and underscores the crucial role of teachers in designing creative and developmentally appropriate learning strategies.
