Abstract

Learning during the Covid-19 pandemic cannot use traditional teacher-centered methods because they are less able to help students learn effectively and think critically. The ability of Indonesian students to think highly is still relatively low. This of course cannot be allowed and teachers need to find methods to be able to help students think critically and creatively to be able to prepare them to face globalization. Therefore, Flipped Classroom is widely used in schools or colleges because it can improve students' higher-order thinking skills. The purpose of this article is to review several articles that examine the effect of applying Flipped Classroom to improving students' High Order Thinking Skills. The research method used is a literature review that starts with looking for research problems, searching for literature, evaluating data, and analyzing it. After searching for research articles, the researcher found 5 articles and analyzed them and compared one with the other. The result of this literature review is that the application of Flipped Classroom is very effective in increasing students' higher-order thinking skills. By using Flipped Classroom, students can practice analyzing problems, evaluating, and creating works. This happens because students study videos or teaching materials provided before learning in class. In the classroom, students and teachers can have deeper discussions and students have the opportunity to debate, present, and create works through projects. Most students also have a positive view of the implementation of Flipped Classroom so that this method is highly recommended for learning in the 21st century classroom.
